A

Animal Rights Club
Animal Rights Club seeks to promote animal rights and fight animal cruelty and exploitation in our community. We value minimizing animal abuse as much as possible in every aspect of our lives. If you love animals, then this is the perfect place for you! To join, please visit the link in our Instagram bio or drop by room 127 at lunch on Thursdays.

Alpine Sports Club
Snowsports and cultivating interests of those whom are avid about alpine sports. Also trying to introduce alpine sports to a larger gathering

Apparel Club
​​The purpose of Apparel Club is to involve students in the world of apparels, textiles, sewing and the fashion industry through learning new skills and examining the history of fashion and its most influential people. Furthermore, we will use our sewing skills to benefit the community and foster creativity.

Asian Culture Club
​Are you interested in getting hi-chews and more Asian snacks? Asian Culture Club is a place to celebrate Asian culture and discuss current issues related to Asian Americans. Anyone is welcome to join regardless of race.

Astronomy Club
Astronomy Club is all about exploring our universe through brief lessons, documentaries, games, in-person stargazing, movies, and (potentially) a trip. We value science, exploration, curiosity, and of course, having fun. Our goal is to bring the wonder of the universe to all of our members through the science of astronomy. Most meetings will be held outside of school, with shorter, organizational meetings during school. Students can join via a Google Forms link, which can be found in the bio of the club Instagram @roosevelt_astronomy_club.

Automobile Club
Automobile club is an accepting and fun environment to celebrate and learn about automobiles and engineering.

Best Buddies
The RHS Best Buddies Friendship chapter represent one of Best Buddies four key mission pillars  (One-To-One Friendships, Integrated Employment, Leadership Development,Inclusive
Living). Friendship chapters build one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), offering social interactions while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion for a population that is often isolated and excluded. Through their participation, people with IDD form meaningful connections with their peers, gain self-confidence and self-esteem, and share interests, experiences and activities that many other individuals enjoy. We will also train members to lead inclusive and disability rights workshops for RHS students to combat ableism in the RHS community.

Bike Club
We are a biking community with the goal of raising awareness about biking, promote biking, and host monthly bike rides to help build and connect our community. ​

Calisthenics Club
​The Calisthenics Club is meets every other week. We discuss new workouts and member fitness goals. If you want to learn lots of different workouts, moves, watch inspiring videos, and get stronger and more agile without equipment, it's the perfect club for you.

Chess Club
It's quite simple. We just chill and play chess. You can join us to play competitively or just for fun. All are welcome! Puzzles are posted every week on our Instagram. Our goal is to provide a community that develops their problem-solving abilities, extend their knowledge about chess, as well as just create a chill environment.

Creative Quarterly Club
​We create an artistic newsletter featuring visual art, comics, graphic design, creative writing, and more from the Roosevelt community. We will publish it online and as a limited hardcopy newsletter each quarter. Open to all that are interested in the making of the newsletter, to contribute to it, or just to have fun.

Crochet Club
Crochet Club is super fun and we all hangout and talk about our love for crochet. We learn about the history of crocheting and different stitches. This club is very advanced but feel free to join even if you are just a beginner, or if you have never even picked up yarn and a hook before!

Roosevelt Consent Culture Team (RCCT) is a club dedicated to devising curriculum, holding spaces for discussion (and listening), and connecting with our community to combat rape culture at Roosevelt.

Diabetic Student Association
Come to the Roosevelt DSU where we hold meetings  centered around type one diabetes! We will have fun activities, share advocacy opportunities, create a safe space for conversation, and also educate Roosevelt about T1D. This club is for anyone, not just type one diabetics. EmpowHer Mentorship Club
​EmpowHER Mentorship Club connects freshman and senior girls in a safe environment. A mentor (senior) is placed with their mentee (freshman) and the two will meet and connect as they go throughout the school year. They will bond and form a meaningful connection, helping the freshman feel more comfortable at RHS. Each pair will decide what activities to do together, such as going to lunch, working on homework, exercising, and just simply being there for one another. In addition, we will have whole group meetings once a month to discuss issues girls face at RHS and also just have fun and get to know each other. Exotic Pet Club
A club for people who have exotic pets, want one, or just like them. Anyone can join, but if there's any snake or rodent phobia this might not be the club for you. We raise awareness about exotic pet care, and will probably do some volunteering.

F-Word (Feminism Club)
​The F-Word is safe community to discuss issues of gender and how they intersect with race, class, sexuality, and more. We make art, eat snacks, have themed meetings, listen to speakers, and attend feminist events!

GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance)
Roosevelt's Gender Sexuality Alliance is a club in which members are able to participate in thought-provoking discussions and community outreach activities regarding LGBTQ+ issues and culture. We also provide a safe space for those in the queer community. We are looking to improve ally-ship at Roosevelt.

Gender Diversity Club
The GDC is a safe and confidential environment for transgender and gender diverse students to find peer support and resources for navigating identity, as well as to take part in discussions and activities relating to gender diversity.​

Graphic Design Club
A space for students to express their creativity through art and design and learn together about graphic design! We design logos, posters and more for personal projects or for other clubs and programs at Roosevelt.

Green Team
Green Team is a safe and welcoming environment where we learn about environmental issues and take action in the Roosevelt community. We organize community cleanups, and host environmental events like DIY days and movie nights! All are welcome, and service hours are provided for meetings and events/cleanups!

Horticulture Club
Help create a supportive and inclusive community at Roosevelt while learning about plant care and the plants themselves. Meetings will focus on getting to know fellow club members, organizing fundraisers for and volunteering at the University District Food Bank, and learning about plants and gardening.

Iron Flyers RC Plane Club
We design, build, and fly RC airplanes. No experience required. If you are interested in engineering, this club will allow you to dive into topics such as aerodynamics, computer aided design, electrical design, programming and more! We also attend regional STEM competitions relating to flight. If this all sounds intimidating, don't worry! If flying airplanes simply sounds like fun(it is), then this club is for you!

Iron Riders
​We are a team of students and mentors working together to build robots and compete with them,
and through this gaining real-world skills and experience. No experience needed, everyone who joins  will be taught the skills they need by returning members from our 3 departments of Build, Software, and Business.

Jewish Student Union
Come to JSU to learn about different aspects of Jewish culture and tradition while meeting new people and having fun. Through discussions and interactive activities we will learn what it means to be Jewish.

Journalism Club
The RHS Journalism Club supports, and recognizes individual student initiative and achievement in scholastic journalism, such as through newspaper publication, yearbook, or announcement broadcast. Our aim is to support journalistic integrity, ethics, and focus in Roosevelt High School and the wider community. We encourage all who are passionate about media communication and publication to join our meetings to learn more about the field and hone their skills. The RHS Journalism Club partners with the Quill and Scroll Journalisic Honors Society (the national organization) to provide further opportunities for members such as scholarships, events to attend, and recognition.

Junior Classical League
The Roosevelt High School Junior Classical League is a club dedicated to fostering appreciation for the classics (Greco-Roman culture, history, society) in the modern world. Any student can join, as long as they are curious about the classics! Our regular meetings are centered around discussions and activities related to classical civilizations and their impacts on the modern world. K-Pop Dance Club
Kpop Club is a fun and safe place for RHS students to talk about about their love for Kpop and Asian pop culture! We play games, hangout, listen to music, watch music videos and dance performances, talk about our favorite groups, and practice for dance covers. You can join by contacting one of the presidents or the Instagram page and ask about meetings or just show up!

La Raza
La Raza is a space which people of color, people of Hispanic/Latinx origin,or people that are interested in learning more about the culture outside of a class environment can come together and share our similarities and differences within a safe space. La Raza will be a space where people can express their emotions and thoughts on sensitive topics that aren't usually addressed. The club will also be a place of growth where we learn about the many different cultures within the Latinx and Hispanic communities.

Magic the Gathering Club
A comfortable and welcoming place where anyone can play Magic the Gathering casually as a new or old player of the game for enjoyment.​

Make a Wish Club
​Make A Wish club is dedicated to spreading knowledge and raising money for the Make A Wish foundation. We through fundraisers and collect donations that will hopefully bring light and happiness to a sick child's life.

The Model UN Club focuses on international relations, communication skills, debate, and problem-solving. We attend multiple conferences a year, including WASMUN (Washington State MUN) Conference which takes place at the UW.

The National Honors Society is a nationwide organization that is offered in many high schools across the country, including Roosevelt. Roosevelt Outdoors Club (ROC) is a unique opportunity is a unique opportunity to meet new people and explore the pacific northwest! Physics Club
The Physics Club is a place for physics-related activities, physics homework help, physics discussions, and the national Physics Olympiad competition. No experience is required to join!

Photography Club
If you have any interest in photography, this is the place for you! Whether you have been taking photos for years, or have never picked up a camera, drop in! We'll be organizing group photoshoots around Seattle, as well as sharing knowledge about how to use a camera and editing, all the while sharing our own photography.

Pre-Med Club
Pre-Med Club is a space for aspiring medical students to gain experience and knowledge! No matter what field of medicine you are interested in (nursing, dentistry, surgery, etc), Pre-Med has something for everybody. In Pre-Med, you will get to meet real medical professionals, find volunteer/job opportunities related to medicine, participate in fundraisers, connect with peers, learn about medicine, and more!​

Psychology Club
Psychology Club is a club where students can come together to discuss psychology and brain related topics along with get homework help for current psychology classes. We discuss articles relating to human behavior and neuroscience and talk about how psychology can relate to many different professions.​

Quill and Scroll is an international honor society for high school journalists. RHS Rocketry Club
​The RHS Rocketry Club works to teach Roosevelt students about rocketry, no experience needed! In our meetings we will teach students about how to build and operate rockets as well as entering rockets in competitions. Stop by any time to learn more about the club!

Rider Readers Book Club
A non-stressful space for students to read and analyze a wide variety of literature. Drop-in any time, meetings will be held twice a month and we will spend 3 meetings on each book. No worries if you can't come every month or want to read every book just come when you want and read what you want.​

Riders Esports Club
The 2x National Champion (Valorant, Madden) Roosevelt Esports Club competes in the nationwide High School Esports League. Esports is competitive video gaming and we play games such as Overwatch, CS:GO, Rainbow 6 Siege, Rocket League, Fortnite, Valorant, NBA2K, and more for prizes such as scholarships up to $1000 per season. We play four seasons, Winter, Fall, Summer, and Spring and in Winter and Summer students from other schools can join. Join our linked discord for more info and meeting times.

​The Roosevelt Backgammon Society holds monthly online backgammon tournaments among club members. We aim to foster a competitive, yet supportive environment for board-game enthusiasts to hone their skills.

Roosevelt Art Studio 
Our Art Studio are going to be weekly sessions at lunch or after school where kids at Roosevelt can come to Ms. Kosoglad's classroom and explore their creativity. It will be a loosely structured session for people to start and continue paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures.

Roosevelt Film Club
Come make films with us! In this club students learn and collaborate to create short films that are showcased at the end of each year.

Roosevelt Investment Club
The RHS investment club intends to educate and discuss real world and real time investment decisions. More experienced members can come to share their opinions and expertise on investing while individuals new to investing can come to learn and ask questions!
We are hosting a stock market simulation challenge where members of the club will have to manage $100,000 over a time period and whoever gains the most will earn a prize.

The Investment Club will hold weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 12:10 in room 311. During these meetings, we will reflect on the market's performance from the past week and discuss other relevant investing topics. 

We also have a RHS investor discord where numerous resources are posted for members to learn about investing and discuss their ideas with other members.

Roosevelt Music
Roosevelt Music welcomes all music lovers. If you are interested in singing, rapping, playing an instrument, filming a video, or making an album cover, you can participate. We will be working on one or more projects every month, and the projects will include making music, shooting a music video, creating artwork for an album cover, and more. All songs and music videos will be uploaded to Soundcloud and YouTube.

Roosevelt Leftist Co-Op
​The Roosevelt Leftist Co-op is an engaging, fun, important club for anyone interested in:
-making their community more self-sustaining
-exploring progressive politics (like environmentalism, racial issues, feminism, homelessness/poverty)
-questioning how the world's issues are interconnected and what systems cause them

The goal of this co-op is to explore one progressive political issue at a time, and then launch a corresponding mutual aid project that applies what we learned! Mutual aid is a form of political and social organization that believes that every member of a community has needs and skills to contribute. Mutual aid projects create the link throughout the community that allows members to all contribute and have their needs met, therefore uplifting the community as a whole!

Co-op members will have the chance to:
-discuss current events
-learn about a side of politics that's grounded in their daily lives, and that goes beyond the two party electoral system
-collaborate with other clubs
-get volunteer hours
-help combat the issues plaguing our world and our community

Roosevelt Students for Climate Action 
​We are the first chapter on the west coast of Students For Climate Action! We work with elected officials and our community to pass legislation to get on track with 100% renewable energy by 2050. Meetings are every Tuesday at lunch (12:05) in room 333. No prior experience necessary!

Roosevelt Suicide Prevention Team
Members of the RSPT are responsible for both community outreach and peer to peer education around suicide prevention, awareness, and crisis management. Additionally, members share the goal to enhance mental health literacy in the Roosevelt Community and de-stigmatize mental illness and suicidal ideation.   Our role is to provide education and offer resources, not to provide peer counseling.​

Roosevelt Teen Health Council
​The purpose of this club is to create an environment where all students can openly communicate about health issues in Roosevelt’s community, within their own lives, and worldwide. We also work to achieve communal awareness around topics of health and wellness while incorporating skills to improve daily life regarding general well-being. A typical meeting, which takes place every Thursday at lunch, includes activities like anonymous question conversation circles, presentations, group check-ins, and potentially guest speakers! We will be having our meetings on zoom this year, and to join you can dm us on our Instagram @rhshealthcouncil or email katielkelly46@gmail.com. From there you will be added to a group me where we will communicate and share zoom links!

A club for students to share their creative writing (prose, poetry, song lyrics, etc.) and receive feedback and support from their peers. Students can join by attending meetings, held after school on Wednesdays.

Supporting Homeless Youth
The Supporting Homeless Youth Club focuses on helping those affected by homelessness, specifically youth. We hold resource drives, spread awareness, and work to show our help and support for homeless youth. We value, kindness, generosity, and if you are someone who cares about our world and wants to make a difference, then this club is for you.​

Technology Student Association (TSA)
The TSA Club is for students who are interested in STEM. Students can participate in 39 different STEM events, work on projects in groups, and compete in the state conference. No experience is required to join!

Thespians
RHS Theatre participates in Thespians—the national honors society for theatre students. Our students attend fall Thespian workshops, unified college auditions, Thespy's (Individual Events), festivals for both performance and tech, the State Festival, and the International Thespian Festival. UNICEF Club
Our UNICEF (United Nation, International, Children's, Emergency Fund) club partners with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to educate, advocate and fundraise to support UNICEF's lifesaving work. Towards the end of the year we travel to D.C. to attend the Children's Summit where we lobby Congress.​

UThrift Club
UThrift originated at the University of Miami. It is a program in which students can donate their clothing items that they no longer want/need. In exchange, students can pick up a different piece of clothing. UThrift has the goal of creating a more sustainable community by reducing the effects of fast fashion. Members will help plan and run UThrift events.

Wellness Club
Wellness club is a space where students can learn balanced living, it is for students who are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, and overworked. Club values are, self-care, overall wellness *hint the name, and positivity. Students can become members simply by attending 2 or more of the weekly meetings. ​

Women in Tech
Women in Tech is a Platform for girls to explore different fields in STEM through fun competitions and challenges, engaging speakers, discussions and workshops. The meetings are monthly and it's going to be through zoom. The meeting links and more information will be posted on our social media @rhswomenintech.

World Scholars Club
The World Scholar's Cup is an international academic competition that involves writing, debate, knowledge bowls, scavenger hunts, alpacas (yes, alpacas), and more! Students compete in teams of three, researching topics that fall under an annual theme before attending a competitive round in the spring. The Cup celebrates the joy of learning and has grown to reach tens of thousands of students in dozens of countries. No experience needed!
