D Debate Team: The Roosevelt Speech and Debate team is an official WIAA team that competes competitively November through March. The two debate formats offered are Public Forum, where you debate one topic a month as part of a two-person team, and Congressional Debate, where you debate student-created legislation in a simulation of the US Congress. Debate is perfect for students who love argumentation, critical thinking, and public speaking. Speech offers a large variety of dramatic, humorous, expository and current event categories. Pre Med Club: Pre Med Club aims to provide the students of Roosevelt with the opportunity to explore or pursue an interest in health sciences. Some activities include: listening to mentor and panel talks, learning about all kinds of different health-related careers, attending professional seminars, conducting experiments, touring labs, connecting with local experts, and much more. This club gives high school students the ability to understand more about different kinds of careers in the medical field. It is open to students who don’t know what careers they might be interested in, because you never know unless you try.
