Debate Team:
The Roosevelt Speech and Debate team is an official WIAA team that competes competitively November through March.  The two debate formats offered are Public Forum, where you debate one topic a month as part of a two-person team, and Congressional Debate, where you debate student-created legislation in a simulation of the US Congress.  Debate is perfect for students who love argumentation, critical thinking, and public speaking.  Speech offers a large variety of dramatic, humorous, expository and current event categories.

Fruit and Vegetable Club:
We are Fruit and Vegetable Club. We meet every other Friday in Mr. Chamberlin’s room, 267 at 8 AM. We carve fruits and vegetables, make musical instruments, potato stamps, give presentations in elementary schools on the importance of fruits and vegetables, make posters, paint produce, learn about food deserts and food insecurity in the U.S but this is not the limit.  We are open to all ideas and everyone is welcome. Key Club International is the high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. Key Club assists Kiwanis in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world. Ping Pong Club is a club focused on teaching and playing the sport of table tennis. During meetings, the members organize and play their own games on the ping pong tables provided by our club. Ping Pong Club also hosts occasional tournaments for those wishing to compete!

Pre Med Club:
Pre Med Club aims to provide the students of Roosevelt with the opportunity to explore or pursue an interest in health sciences. Some activities include: listening to mentor and panel talks, learning about all kinds of different health-related careers, attending professional seminars, conducting experiments, touring labs, connecting with local experts, and much more. This club gives high school students the ability to understand more about different kinds of careers in the medical field. It is open to students who don’t know what careers they might be interested in, because you never know unless you try. Educating students about their own potential career interests is one of the main priorities for Pre Med Club.

UThrift Club:
UThrift originated at the University of Miami, with a mission to stop the cycle of fast fashion in order to create a more sustainable community. This is achieved by reusing clothes so that the resources that went into making them don’t go to waste. By accepting donations of clothes from students and creating a thrift swap system, we make our community more environmentally friendly by stopping the cycle of fast fashion.

Vegetarians and Vegans Society (VVS) helps to educate others about being vegetarian and vegan. This club is open to anyone no matter their diet. VVS spreads awareness of sustainable delicious vegan and vegetarian options through conversation, information, activities, and eating food.
